I've never tried Feliway on our cats, but may suggest it for the scaredy
cat in a new home.
How calming is it? Does it really work? The cat isn't peeing
inappropriately, but has been abandoned by his human and won't come out
of the closet. He is terrified of other humans.
I have read the web site and their calming test was only done on
fifty-some cats, so wanted to get other experiences too.
Thanks,
Rhonda

I used it when moving my cats, and the move went VERY well. I spoke to a
vet who is an herbalist/acupuncturist regarding it, and she said she liked
to use it in cages when cats are forced to stay in them for a while. It is
a welcoming scent.. so it is like the stuff you spray it on is saying
welcome. Good, but for a trust scared cat, you need to build up his
confidence.. Try rescue remedy. I had good success with that with my
scared kitty. (also good for cats and dogs afraid of thunderstorms)
You also need to show him that you are nothing to be scared of. Go in the
room with a good book, and read out loud in a calm voice, or talk to the
kitty and say what ever comes to mind. Don't push, just be there with good
treats and a calm voice
