I've been looking for a magnetic or infared activated cat door, that
operates the opposite of the standard ie. the cat wears a collar that
locks the door.  We have an elderly cat we do not want to let out
unless we are around.  The rest of the cats can come and go as they
please.  None of the younger cats will tolerate or keep a collar on
more than a day.  We currently have a standard cat flap door that all
use.  Has anyone seen such an animal??

thanks

Haven't heard of one with a collar that has a lock only setting. Besides,
they can be pretty smart about the door. He could just follow one of the
other cats out.  Mine have figured out how to unlock their cat door. I
replaced one of my basement windows with a panel containing the door and one
panel that can open with a screen. There is a catwalk suspended from the
floor joist that runs out and over to the top step of the basement stairs.
