Your kitten is probably accustomed to using the litter box in his cage.
Therefore, you should *gradually* move it forward until it is finally
outside the cage. (2) You could also try a litter box with a cover. You
could also try locating litter boxes in various areas, starting with one
right beside the cage since that is what he is used to.

Is the litter box CLEAN ? When we took in the Pointe she would not use the box unless it
was absolutely clean unless she was the one to use it. If it was not she would go on the
floor right next to it. The one in her cage is most likely used only by him and not the
other cat. Have you thought about getting a second box ?? With 2 cats you should really
have 2 boxes anyhow.

HOWEDY Pinky,
> I have a 1yr.old Male cat that has been neutered
Surgically sexually mutilating innocent
critters makes them fearful and aggressive.
> and he uses the litter box,
The only thing more unnatural than a housebreaking
problem is opposite sex aggression between critters
in the same house.
> I also have a 6mo. cat that has not been neutered yet
Good.
> and he will only use the litter box when it is in his cage.
Could be he's scared of the other kat or doesn't
want to share his litter box but that's not the
problem. The problem is that he's living in a crate.
That teaches critters their crate is their house
and your house is his terrortory to foul.
> When he gets out he will not use either
> one of the litter boxes.
The problem isn't the litter boxes. Livin in the crate.
is the problem. Is there a REASON he's kept crated?
That's the problem, not the kat or the litter box.
