Hi,
Thought I'd post a new message instead of replying to the old one. Just
like to thank those of you who have replied to my other messages - loads of
useful advice. Henry's been admitted to our Vet for the past 24 hours, and
we were told today he has a very nasty viral infection. He's still on a
drip, so obviously has been very ill, and is still on anti-biotics.
Apparently we can take him home tonight (Friday) but he's got to go back on
Monday for more tests I think.
His temperature has gone down, and all sounds very promising BUT...he's on
anti-inflammatories which I'm worried about. The vet doesn't yet know how
the virus started, or from where - and I don't know what the
anti-inflammatories indicate. A lump somewhere? Vet told us his eyes are
better (they were dull before) and said he's much perkier, so that's all
good...just a bit concerned about these anti-inflams..
Rgds

Good news because Henry is being cared for / bad news: why did it take so
long for your vet to react?
Did you have to put your foot down to get something done to your cat?
Your cat is still young, I think he'll make it. It's also good that he
waited with this illness until you were back, isn't it?
You may be right with the rat bite. Please keep us updated we can only
learn - and - GOOD LUCK !!

You're sure they're anit-inflamitories? (not saying you don't know what your
cat's on, I just want to make sure) If they are, it's possibly his joints
are swollen or achy. When I had chicken pox (also a viral infection) two
years ago, sometimes my joints hurt when I moved. Anti-inflamitories are
also good for general muscle pain. I take them for my back. Maybe he has
symptoms of the aches and pains.. maybe they're just a precaution.
