There is a tom cat who walks around meowing loudly, often in the wee
hours of the moring. We call him the crazy old man, because he walks
around meowing for no reason. Though I guess there must be a reason,
can anyone think of one? He seems to be a tomcat because I've seen him
spray the neighbor's plants.

That is probably one reason, but for some reason the cat owners in my
neighborhood let their pets roam without id tags.

Excuse the expression but maybe he is just horney.

Yes, I have theorized that his meow translates to "hey ladies,
beautiful ladies"!

You just answered your own question, right? May we (NG) help you with
anything else? If so, just make sure it is kitty related ...otherwise, we
bid you a 'good night' ...'good day' ...or 'goodbye' ...take your pick.

My first question was cat related I believe.

He must have misunderstood your question, and thought you were asking
for volunteers for the snotty jackass club.

LOL! Meanwhile, Mr. Kitty still goes around chatting with himself.
When he came by yesterday afternoon I teased my cat by saying he was
serenading her!

There is a reason. The middle of the night howlin' tom cat blues. My
neutered tom gets them. Hell, I get them. "In the dark night of the soul,
it'always three o'clock in the morning."

Thanks for all the humorous responses, but I did want ot emphasize that
the little fella does this all the time. We saw him yesterday at about
10am walking around "talking to himself" as we call it. So we stopped
him and had a little "conversation." He doesn't want to be petted but
seems to like people "talking" with him.
