Life after the cattery............

Hello All

Just collected my cat from her first stay in a cattery while we were on
a family holiday.  She was there for two weeks, and the cattery owner
told me when I collected her that she was happy to be cuddled, ate well,
but refused point blank to use her litter tray.  Cattery owner tried all
different types of litter - even went to the trouble of digging up some
soil from her garden to see if miss fusspot would use that - but with no
luck!

My usually impeccably behaved puss used her bed as a litter tray, also
did her business all over her toys and blanket we had taken there for
her to have something familiar around her. Finally the bemused cattery
owner had the vet look at her just in case there was a medical problem.

Anyway....home we came, me worried to death all the way home as I
contemplated having to mop up all over the house, and what do you
know?...we came in the front door, opened the cat carrier, and Madam
walked calm as you like to her litter tray and used it properly!

She seems very happy to be home, purring like mad and continually
following the children everywhere.  She keeps coming up to me to be
stroked and fussed, but the odd thing is her 'miaow' has changed -
sounds sort of strangled (if you see what I mean) almost like a human
who has had a sore throat and is struggling to speak. Any ideas as to
what this could be anyone?

TIA

Lily (who has only been a cat owner for 4 months but can't imagine life
without her Belle now!)

She's learned to speak a foreign language LOL

My cats do the strangled meow when they feel sorry for themselves, I bet it
will go away in a few days.

When I brought my cat home, she seemed to be searching the apartment for
other cats.  She was walking around and meowing.  After 5 minutes, she came
back to me to be petted.  Before I took her to the cattery, she didn't like
having her belly rubbed, but she likes it now.
