Hello,
My name is Joe, and I returned home last night from a camping trip to
find my cat, Nina, infested with fleas. I went to the local store and
purchased the Hartz Mountain 3 in 1 droplet product and applied it to
the back of her neck. Then proceeded to spend the next 4 hours
vacuuming.

Today, I read how this Hartz product is potentially dangerous to cats
and is being pulled by the EPA (the detials of this can be found on
Hartz's website). So I went to a better store and purchased Frontline,
which seems to be endorsed by respectable Vets. I just washed the Hartz
medicine off of the cat, but I'm worried that the quick addition of
this Frontline medicine might injure her.

Thanks in advance for any advice you could provide,
Joe Argentina

do NOT put frontline on while she is still on hartz.  It takes 30 days or so
for that to work its way through her system.  Im glad your kitty didn't have
a reaction, and if I were you i'd have very strong words with the store that
sold it to you as it is being recalled.

If the kitty still has fleas, wash it with mild soap and pick as many as you
can off.

You need to consult a vet.  However, if you managed to get at least
most of the Hartz cat poison off, I would not foresee any problem from
Frontline, though the cat may not like it - or maybe its smell (once I
start a round on my cats, a couple of them become impossible to catch
of at least a week).

Thanks to all who responded. I consulted a vet and they said that it
was "absolutely O.K." to follow up with Frontline (or Advantage) one
day after washing off the Hartz product. I did that yesterday, and Nina
is doing well.

Thanks again,
Joe

I think the cat should be fine. but only vacuuming is not getting the
fleas gone, you need to get a flea bomb for your house and wash the
bedding from your cat a good think is also after cleaning everything use
  the frontline.
U could use eucalyptus oil under the bedding of the cat but not directly
on the skin. Helps to prevent

Hope this helps
