After pondering how to leave a trap set up in the rain, I came up with
a VERY simple and effective solution!
If you have a medium to large size pet carrier, take the door off (this
shouldn't be hard to do).
Then, simply slide the trap inside the pet carrier! (Of course, you
should be sure that the entry to the trap is sticking out of the pet
carrier. Duh!)
You now have a solid roof over your trap, along with ventilation on all
four sides so that the odor of the bait can be spread all around.
I did this last night and it worked like a charm! I caught a cat...but
it wasn't my beloved little Albert. :-(
Not YET, anyway!

Have you or anyone else seen Albert lately?
Good luck!

Hi, Rhonda:
No, there have been no sightings since a few days ago, and I have
strong suspicions that the cat that was sighted was not Albert.
I did get a very promising phone call the day before yesterday from a
man that lives one street over from me. He says that he has seen a
black and white cat around his house and he has begun to feed it. He
tells me that he will try to make friends with it and trap it for me.
At this point, I'm needing a miracle. Two and a half weeks with no
return...it doesn't look or feel good....

I sure hope that cat is Albert! If he can't catch him right away, could
he take a picture with a digital camera so you could confirm?
I have everything crossed for Albert. Miracles do happen.
