Hello Everyone
I have a 3 mo. old female kitten that sees herself in the mirror,
watches TV and if on a news station, tries to catch the messages
crawling across the screen.  Is this standard behavior or do I have an

oddball?  I don't remember my previous cat doing either of these
behaviors.  I'd be interested in comparing notes.
Thanks

My 1 year old kitty sits in what she considers her throne for her tv
watching.   I  have an oversized chair, sort of a like a chaise lounge chair
but it doesn't extend long enough to completely stretch out on.  She always
lays there and you can see her eyes on the tv.  My friends think it's funny
that she watches tv and they make comments about it.  I leave the tv on when
I am gone so she's not in total silence.  She does paw at the mirror when I
take her in the bathroom and hold her while getting her daily dose of
antibacterial ready.  (I have to put cream on her chin since she has this
odd tendency toward acne on her chin...I've posted here about it and it has
gotten better:)  So you are not alone.  I'm not one to watch CNN type
channels with the tickers at the bottom, so I'm not sure if she'd try to
"read" it.  But I know she sure does like her tv time.

Three of my five cats do this.  Bailey, my oldest male, watches TV every
chance he gets.  He won't take his eyes off of it, and you can see changes in
his expression as things change on the screen.

Blue my eldest kitty could care less about the tv but Kayos the baby (3
months as well) loves the tv especially animal planet.  Blue prefers
old country music lol.  I love to watch Kayos try to chase the birdies
or the mice on animal planet and the look on her face is priceless when
she encounters a strange dog barking at her on the tv.  It's almost
like she's trying to say, "Mommy, how could you let that vile creature
in our house to bark at me like that?"  Then, she just calmly gives him
a swat and walks away with her tail swishing to find somewhere safe to
lay usually on my shoulder.

My cat, Julia, ignores the aquarium and the fish in it, and she is
still a kitten. I should be worried. ;-)

My two cats love to watch ice skating.....they also love the cat video I
bought for them.  The only bad thing is they haven't learned to re-wind and
hit "play".

Ours will try to get the mouse cursor on my PC screen.
