He's 6mo. When I work the computer he sometimes leaps on my desk, walks up to
me and  very gently reaches out and lightly touches my face with his front paw.

Very touching :)

Cat used to do that to me all the time when I was watching the hockey
game; later I learned that it's a gesture of ownership.... cat was
rooting for the other team.

what do you mean what do I mean... cat thought he owned me during hockey
season.  It *has* been a while since the Cup's been in Toronto.

Hockey? What is hockey?  Oh yeah that is that game they used to play
many
years ago before they went on strike.

BTW, you don't own the cat, the cat owns you 24/7.

Yup. Somebody said: "Dogs have masters. Cats have staff." I proudly and
humbly serve 2 indoor cats and uncertain number (between 4 and 6, I think)
of strays that people dumped in this area.
Last winter I salvaged 3 nearly frozen kittens, and had them adopted out via
Petsmart. I hope they found good homes. Nevertheless, I wish people would
not dump cats, not only in my neighborhood but at all.
Love to all, - Maggie's Mom.

My Julia ONLY comes to me, and procedes to lick and pet and nip me,
pounce and bounce on me, and has the feline fortitude to find a
comfortable spot on my abdomen and squat (if I am layiong on my lounge
sofa) and look pretty proud in the process. I figured this is my
induction into the kitty kingdom and I am HER servant. That addage
comes to mind: "Dogs are like people, and cats know their gods!"

That's so sweet. My 5m.o. sometimes pats me but more often licks me. If
I put my face anywhere near him he will lick my nose/chin/forehead and
if he is washing himself and I am nearby he will lick my
hands/arms/legs as well as himself. Not sure if he is loving or bathing
or both.

My kitty does that too.  She licks my face sometimes too or my hand if I
leave it dangling over the edge of the couch or the bed.  I just think of it
as cute :)

Yeah, just wait until that paw stretches out and his claws rakes your
cornea.  Thanks a lot Kitty - I didn't really need to see out of that
eye for the next few days anyway....

Of course she acted like she didn't mean to hurt me.   Kittens are
weasels.!
