i have an 9 year old cat and the past couple days she has been trying to
urinate and only a little will come out but the strange part is she is doing
it everywhere in the house, in plants and on the chairs and never use to. and
a little bit of blood is coming out. Has anyone had this same experience with
there cats and if so can you please tell me what was wrong?

I've not experienced it myself but from reading this group for a couple
years, it's time to take your cat to the vet for a checkup, now.

Holy sh.t are you dumb.

The first time blood comes out of an orriface that isn't supposed to release
blood (nowhere on cats) take it to the damn vet imediately.  Would you sit
around and wonder if something is wrong if you get blood coming out your
eyes?  Gee, my house has been burning for two days, think I should put water
on it?

Your cat probably has a urinary tract infection, and could be in
considerable pain.

You are too f.cking stupid to own an animal, and I hope you don't breed
yourself.

Take it easy there.  Yes the cat should be checked out by a vet, blood
coming out of the cat's body anywhere is not normal.   But bear in
mind cats don't come with owners manuals, (even if they did the
cat would do the opposite of what the manual says).   We all started
at some point knowing nothing about cats.   The OP did the right
thing, where the OP didn't know what to do the OP asked.

I've had cats now for 20+ years and they still do things that
mystify me.

Geez, Sparky, that's kind of harsh isn't it? If someone wrote that stuff to
me, I'd probably think twice about even trying to get advice here.

Get to the vet ASAP. Sounds like urinary tract infection or even renal
failure. My cat who had renal failure urinating in very small amounts &
drank A LOT.  The peeing everywhere is also a strong sign of something
wrong. Good luck & I hope she's okay.

be something wrong ?"

He or she might have been exagerrating or using a regionalism or some
other confusing language which may have mangled what the poster was
trying to convey. But there's enough response--hope it prompts he or
she to take their beloved in hospital, soonest.
blondie1337 - 21 Jul 2005 21:43 GMT
first of all sparky if you read the forum right the first time she or he
never said the cat was peeing blood all over the place she said the cat was
peeing all over the place and a little blood was coming out. and you said you
hope she dont breed well i hope you dont have kids cause your language is
horrible, you are ignorant.people come on here for advice but personally you
can keep yours to yourself.

Can't say as I've ever wondered what a '"leet" blonde' would be like;
suppose I know now.

a) my name's not "Sparky" but if your concern is that I answered a post
that wasn't specifically directed towards me, then what are you doing ?

b) I'm not particularly concerned whether the poster breeds, well or
not, and didn't write anything of the sort either way.

c) my "horrible language" consists of berating a poster who seemed to
think that her kitten getting cut by a razor blade she left laying
around was the cat's fault not hers, and twice to some moron who wanted
to buy a budgie for his 3 cats to play with and called me a "twat".

d) whether *I* have kids or not is hardly likely to ever be your concern.

e) you don't have to heed or even read my advice.

pat, the message was not for you it was for someone on here that goes by
sparky, sorry if you thought it was directed toward you.

I recently changed nntp servers, the posts aren't coming out linked
properly yet... sure looked like it.  But my exaggeration of the OP's
lament is part of what you were commenting on.  A cat that can't pee and
when she does is peeing all over the place and any amount of blood is
coming out is not a happy cat (guess: kidney stones or other UTI) and
should see a vet, pronto.

Cruelty to animals is harsh.  Criticizing people who do it is not harsh,
it's rational and appropriate.

Farmers that let their cows have infections without treatment _get_ARRESTED_
and _GO_TO_JAIL_.  This person ignoring their cat's needs is being
incredibly cruel.

Ignorance is NOT an excuse for neglect.

<shrug> People shouldn't think the Internet is full of their friends.  It's
not, even if it's words stolen from Uesnet and reposted on a pretty web site
(without permission).

Who's to say the poster's deliberately neglecting his/her pet--they're
here asking for advice.

Don't assume it's neglect. Though, if it were me, I'd take my cat in
to hospital casualty promptly without a second thought--but some
people need extra nudging!

No problem, Stacy, I always say to treat other like you want to be treated.
But if you are still waiting for an appt. you should try another vet or an
emergency vet if there is one even close. Most vets are open for a few hours
on Saturdays. If she still can't pee much at a time, she is probably acting
lethargic too by now, if she's blocked up it could be deadly. Please try to
find her help today!

My immediate advice to you is take your beloved to the vet.'s office,
at once, and have her thoroughly examine.
