I live in the Toronto area but I grew up in Scotland in a little town
called Beith.
We had a family cat outdoor/indoor who brought home a little kitten one
day. I don't know if it was one of his offspring or not (We didn't alter
in those days). He played with the kitten but sometimes got a little
rough so we separated them for a while. We did end up keeping the kitten
btw.

My cat Biggles spent some time training a little Maine Coon not to turn
his back when he couldn't stand the staring contest any longer.

I know female cats spend a lot of time training their young but don't
really know about males.

If anyone could add anything that would be nice.

I saw one male cat once that cared for a kitten like a mother cat, grooming
it and loving it.

Next door's Persian (and he *is* a beauty!) doesn't go out that much any
more since he got a little female playmate. He has to groom her all over
twice a day, and with Persians that takes a lot of time! LOL

My mom had a male cat that brought home strays. One day he showed up with a
little bunny rabbit following him.

This was how we ended up being such a big family. Dinky was constantly
bringing home new family members.
