We have a young female that has been spayed . The vet told us he couldn't
find one ovarian horn . During the procedure her uterus was removed . She
still goes into heat which is stressful on the humans in her family, and I'm
sure it is unpleasant for her too .
The vet has said he can go in again during her next heat and will have a
50/50 chance of finding the missing ovarian horn . We're not sure if we want
to put her through surgery again, she's kind of freaky to begin with and we
are worried about her well being after the procedure .
Any suggestions or advice ?
TIA

I would definately suggest going to another vet for some more advice.
It obviously doesn't seem to bother the one vet, so find another. If
the other says she'll be fine, then there is no sense in putting her
through another experience. You could also do some research into the
procedure, and find out if it is normal, etc. and the statistics
around that.
