I have 2 cats and one of them has the worst breath sometimes. They have the
same food and I do not give them treats as one of them has a colon problem
and possible allergies. Any ideas as to what could be causing this??

If the breath is REALLY bad it could be an infection from a bad tooth.
Maybe it's time for a dental check. A few months ago, Amber lost one of
her fangs and her breath was awful - even from a foot away. She had to
get antibiotics and a dental cleaning.

thanks
I will look into that - I have been watching to see if he favored one side
over the other for chewing but except for the breath - he seems fine.
Off to the vet...........

No, sorry (maybe a bad tooth?), but feed them catmint, they love it, it's
not harmful, and a special treat too.

Do you use fresh or dried catmint?

I have not seen fresh one anywhere yet. I bought a box of tablets available
in the pet shop. I guess there's yeast in them too. I tried one, not my
taste, but the cats and the dog love them.

Could be dental problems, could be the food doesn't agree with them.
Truly, I don't want to scare you, but I had a stray for about 6 months with bad
breath that had no visible reason for it. He dropped dead, and after autopsy it
was found that he had massive infection / fluid on his lungs and necrotic
tissue in his intestines. This cat ate, played, was perfectly normal in every
sense. Have your kitty checked by a vet, and please take this symptom
seriously. I wish I had.
