When I started taking care of Catty, now about 12 yrs old, I fed him a
can of Friskies a day and left dry food on the floor for him at all
times. This year he had all his molars pulled out (cost me a fortune).
Now he can't eat that hard dry food, and shows no interest in it if I
soak it in water.
So I feed him canned Friskies (a few Iam's) all the time. But I
believe I've discovered that it is possible to OVERFEED him, after
which he goes into some sort of funk an doesn't eat for days. His
appetite varies and I hate to starve him if he teases. But I'm afraid
of doing him harm by overfeeding.
For a 10 lb cat, how much canned wet food should I feed? He gets
scraps from my plate too - loves chicken and fish.

It should tell you on the side of the food packaging. If the brand you
buy is so dire that it doesn't tell you then you want to buy a different
brand. IAMS however does tell you - I think it's about 110g a day for
dry, probably four times that for wet. Check first though!
