There's a cricket chirping somewhere in my bedroom - I wonder how long
it will take kitty to hunt it down and silence it.

She was listening intently, but now she seems to be ignoring it.

Dipstick cat'o'mine brought in *another* playmate a couple nights ago; a
little mouse which conveniently ran into a cardboard box which I dumped
in a bush outside... about an hour later I turn around and there she is
again facing down a *huge* mouse that (I swear) had it's dukes up and
was gonna punch her... then it ran behind the cabinet; I'm not sure if I
still have an unwanted boarder or not, but I wish the damned cat would
get her priorities straight.

I'm glad all my unwanted guests have 6 or 8 legs and not 4 (or 2).

And the cricket has apparently been permanently silenced.
