Our beloved family cat who is 23 years old by the way and has always
been in good health has just started to pee on everything other than
her litter box. We caught her a couple of times just before she was
about to go and put her INTO her litter box then she goes and jumps
right out and goes running like mad without even bothering to cover it
up. Its strange too because she dosen't seem to go to the bathroom on
anything at all....just right there in the middle of the hardwood
floor and her litter box isn't to far away. Can someone please give me
an idea maybe of what to do. Thank you I appreciate any help.

Being an ederly cat, it probably has health problems. You mention nowhere
in your posting whether or not your cat has been seen by a vet, so I'm
assuming not.
When one of mine urinated improperly, it turned out she was suffering from
renal (kidney) failure. She was only 7-8 years old. She lived another 8
months with daily treatments aftet the diagnosis.
Please take your cat to a vet to rule out health issues, then once they have
been dealt with, you can start to work on the behaviour issues.

Vet asap. It's the cat's way of telling you she's not very well.
