I am absolutely sickened by what was sent to me via email today. A ford
commercial featuring a cat being decapitated by a car sunroof. What sort of
monster would make an ad like that. Can you imagine what kind of sicko would
be sitting around thinking up something so horrible. I am hoping that in some
way that this is a hoax of some sort. I am sure that if ford knew of the way
one of there cars was being represented they would have something to say.
Unfortunately my thoughtless father in law did not think to warn me in
advance that this was not suitable for my children who watched on in horror
as the cat was killed in front of there eyes. The people responsible for
making this commercial should get some serious therapy and if that doesn't
work I would be happy to help them see the error of there ways with my own
version of the commercial replacing the cats head with ther own.

doesn't matter that the cat was unharmed. that is a sick sick commercial.
Animals should not even be pretended to be harmed to sell a product!! How
many sick little boys (and or girls) are going to see that and want to see
for themselves if that is possible??

Hey hon! what are you doing on a cat wesite if you refer to cats as "stupid"
and I'm so sorry I didn't realise that you worked for the advertising company
that made the ad therefore you can say with 100% acuracy that it was not
harmed. Anyway it's really not the point wheather it was harmed or not it's
the content and the message it's sending. I think you would be more at home
on www.niavemen.com.au.

Shannon, that was revolting.
Just a commercial or not, it puts ideas into already sick peoples minds.
Animal torture is nothing to joke about.
Ford's are pieces of crap anyway. What do you expect from a company that
sells crap?
I will see if I can find someone to complain to at crappy Ford, and send
the commercial to some high profile animal rights groups.

That "commercial" was never released - it was a "prototype" that was somehow
leaked to the internet, probably from the advertiszing agency itself. This
happened over a year ago, and Ford has publicly denounced it.
Forwarding it now to an animal advocacy groups would be beating a dead
horse.
There is a companion commercial that goes with this one - shows a bird
(pigeon, maybe) getting a bit of revenge from the car. Said bird flies too
low over the car, car's hood (or bonnet) flies up and <splat>.

A note for Ford: intead wasting time on cars like this
make a car that gets 500 miles to a gallon/is a hybrid
and gives 0.0000% pollution.
In the meantime my next car will be hybrid probably from
a foreign car maker. (Especially where gas here
is $2.19 a gallon.)

$2.19 is a bargain.
$2.49 is the state average where I am.

I don't really see what the decapitation of a cat has to do with selling a
car. A sort of stupid commercial.
