Had a cute incident tonight. My wife came inside and told me that a stranger was
standing halfway down our driveway, talking on a cell phone. Now I'm not
anti-social, but I thought I'd check and see who it was and what he wanted. I
went downstairs, and as they usually do when a stranger is around, all, well,
almost all our cats (we have nine) were keeping their cautious distance. I
approached the guy to see what he was doing and suddenly felt fur quickly brush
across my leg. I looked down and there was my best friend Rusty. He ran from the
back yard, to the driveway, and passed me. He got between me and the stranger
and just sat there watching the guy. Just like I would expect a dog to do. But
this was Rusty, my special buddy. He is one piece of work! YOu can see my Rusty
and the rest of my fur babies if you like Just visit the address below. Rusty is
the tan and white baby. He's my best buddy. And apparently my guard cat!

My female Calico, Freddie, is SERIOUS about guarding my house. One day there
were 2 guys working for my landlord in our yard. She was watching every move
they made from the kitchen window. When they  started nailing a piece of
aluminum siding that had been blown off of my house by the wind back onto it,
she began growling loudly at them. I patted her and told her it was OK--I
knew they were there--- but Freddie just kept growling. I even opened the
window and spoke to the one fellow, who in turn spoke very nicely to the cat,
and I told her again that it was OK and patted her to comfort her, but she
didn't seem to care, she just kept growling until they were done.
She will also sit in the bathroom window during the day and when she sees the
mailman coming to deliver the mail she will jump down from the window and
come running to the front door growling! I told her she's a good girl for
doing that---he keeps bringing bills!  LOL

He's a tuffy alright. With me anyway. He's wimp with our other eight babies.
Even the girls give him a hard time. With me, he likes to fight. We roll around
on the floor, my hand wrapped in a towel, and he bites and does the bunny kick.
After a while, he calms down and curls up with me. My wife calls him the psycho
cat. I think he's bi-polar. But he's my best friend in the world.
