Cat Litter (again)

I've been reading with interest the various posts on cat litter and have
been somewhat alarmed about what I've read on clumping clay litter
containing bentonite. Can anyone tell me please if this is in the
litter is it listed on the pack? I do not have a lot of money and use
the cheapest cat litter from the supermarket that just says 'Fullers
earth' on the label, which I scoop solids from every time my cat uses it
and change every 3 days.

Once again any advice appreciated from a newish cat owner

It's clay. Different clay than the clay in your litter, but still clay.
People eat the stuff to "clean their intestines" apparently. (As far as I
can tell all clumping litter contains bentonite.)

"fullers earth" again, clay. (Except in Florida where it is a specific type
of clay by law, so the litter is probably that type.

What, exactly would you be alarmed about for the stuff?

(Note, for $$$ concerned, changing the litter every three days might cost
you more than using more expensive clumping litter that does not require you
to change all of it for liquid wastes. It could be cheaper in the long run
that way.)

I'm trying to avoid using clumping litter - I've heard not very nice
things about what it can do to a cat's insides!

I try to avoid believing 90% of what I hear.

Some people are using it as a natural "treatment", some people say it's bad
for cats, go figure.

My cats don't seem to have any problem with the tiny bit they injest while
cleaning. I'd suspect that unless your cats eat the stuff that your cats
won't have any problem either.
