Help!  There's another cat coming in and eating my cat's food and tramping
all over my work surfaces.  Being a 'Tom' it's leaving its smell behind him,
its driving me demented.  I've had the cat flap taken apart, cleaned, and
bits renewed - but to no avail.  Any advice please??
Thanks

Catch the cat and take him to a nearest vet to be fixed...  This done, there
will be no smell. I assume that the cat in question does not spray on
anything, just leaves the smell behind, right?

If he sprays, I think you will have to consider getting rid of the pet door.

Be happy it is only a cat. My neighbor next door received a visit from the
friendly neighborhood skunk, who came in to say hello following her dog
through a pet door.    :o) Maggie's Mom

It might not be a fault with the flap. Maybe your own cat is letting
him in.

Maybe her cat is going near the door when the male is trying to get in
and her magnetic collar key unlocks the door?

I don't think so, I caught it once (only once - he's very smart!) and he had
a collar on so I think  he comes to my place for seconds or a midnight feast.

I sent an e-mail to www.catflap.co.uk and they replied and said to upgrade to
an electronic or infra red model as these can't be opened by a normal
magnetic key, that maybe the answer (or maybe she's just a good sales person!)

That is one of the reasons I don't use them.  If a cat can get in the
house
through them then so can a small six year old kid.  And too many of
them
would kill as look at you.

: them

Six year old kids would kill what?
It would have to be a *very, very* small six year old, smaller than a baby!

So what is that supposed to mean?  I suppose you're one of those
parents who  thinks their kid is an angel and never does anything
wrong?  Around here too many kids have no supervision.  So while the
parents
are at work and think their kids are doing homework they are actually
getting
into lots of trouble including breaking into houses, stealing stuff,
torturing animals, etc.

We just a father and son who were arrested when they tried to set a cat
on
fire.   Thankfully the cat is doing OK and will survive.   This was on
our local news.

er, no.  I think if you look you'll observe a couple of exclamation marks.  I
was joking, a bit of 'banter' lighten up or move ....
