Thank You All - My h0p

h0p left the world very peacefully as I held him and whispered "Don't
wory, I've got you baby" - something I used to say to him often as I
would grab him to keep him from falling of the bed because of his
neurological damage.  God how I miss him.  Although I have five other cats
in my home right now, it feels empty, and I would give anything to be able
to lay down and wrap my arms around h0p tonight.

I read, and appreciate so much, all of your condolances.  I have the verse
about St. Francis calling h0p home printed on my wall, and ml, I'm using
your "Angel" verse and the signature in my email.

Thank you all so much.

Dee, I missed the thread about your little one or would have posted before.
I know how hard it is to put a loved pet down. We had to do that with our
catl, Prissy, 10 years ago. She was a Siamese with an attitude and owned us
completely. By the time she was 13, had started developing cancers. Long
story short, because she was in perfect health otherwise, the vets decided
to go ahead and do surgery. They thought they had gotten it all, but . . . .

After two more surgeries and complications due to anesthesia at her age I
told hubby, if it comes back this time, I'm not putting her thru it again.
Six months later it came back in a fury. I had to take her to the vet
myself, as hubby couldn't bear to. I had arranged with doc ahead of time and
he had cleared his schedule.  Like you, I held her while he gave her the
shot. Her head slowly dipped down and I kind of panicked. He quckly said,
'she's just asleep for now.'  He handed me the stethoscope(sp) and indeed, I
heard her heart beat for nearly a minute, then it just slowed and stopped.

I know it's hard, but at least I knew she hadn't suffered, and was finally
out of pain.  I'm hoping you have that same assurance. Believe it, because
it's true.

Dream about h0p being free and running around with the other kittens in
Kitty Heaven.

Good luck to you.

I'm very sorry for your loss.  hOp is at peace now and will
be waiting for you at RB with the rest of our babies that
have passed on.

I know how you feel.  I had my 17 year old Pinky put down a few months ago
and still miss her and probably always will.  I'm alone and she was my
companion.  She would watch at the window and wait for me to come home.
Whatever room I was in, she was there with me.  It's hard but I feel sorrier
for people who have never experienced such a relationship.

Dee, I'm very sad to see that h0p lost the battle. I felt as if I knew
him.  My sincere condolences for your loss. :(

A sad but loving story.  Only an animal lover could understand. My Jake was
put down  in Nov.  I have a new friend Bandit, and every day she is getting
better.  I love her to death. It all takes time, and aren't we the luckiest
folks to have these pets???

patga, there are so many homeless cats that very much need the kind of
love that you have to give.  My h0p was exceptional, but I have five other
cats (Misty, Sam, George, Ivy, and Isis) who are wonderful and exceptional
too, and will never be without cats as long as I can provide a home to
those that need them.

Just look for the pic of a wide-eyed grey tabby for the links - there are
no pictures of petite, vlack, 16 year Isis yet because she just came to us
two weeks ago.

I have made a start at reading your extensive web site.  It looks
fascinating -- you do fine work.  It is book marked now and I;ll read more
tomorrow.   I loved the pictures of your beautiful kittyies  It is sad to
lose them, but you have great memories.  Best wishes.   MLB

Thank you ml, you've always been a special lady.  It's good to be back in
the group again with such a bunch of great people.

Thank you Big Joe, but the h0pper would be most mortified to be called
"she" :) - Thanks for the smile.
