I just got this. I think it's real. I have nothing to do with this company.
Just thought it was interesting.

Feline Cloning
Cat Cloning Services Available In 2004

Dear Dish Newsletter Subscriber,

Genetic Savings & Clone will begin offering cat-cloning services to the
public for the first time later this year. GSC asks that you assist us by
completing a short 7-question survey regarding your attitudes on cat
cloning. Your feedback will help us make important decisions regarding the
delivery of our services.

About Cloning
Cloning is a newer technology and is comparable to in vitro fertilization in
that both are assisted forms of reproduction and were somewhat controversial
when first introduced. Today, in vitro fertilization is a common procedure
accepted the world over and receives little media attention. A few years
from now, we expect pet cloning to be a common reproductive option available
to cat fanciers seeking their next feline.

Cloning Is Complex
Cloning involves many complex interconnected processes that we have had to
develop and refine before offering our services to the marketplace. GSC will
require at least a couple years to attain economies of scale and until then,
cat cloning will be relatively expensive. As with plasma televisions when
first introduced, a ready and willing market exists for cat cloning at
multiple price points. The purpose of this survey is to understand these
price points better.

GSC Is The Pet Cloning Pioneer
GSC is the first company to offer pet cloning services to the public.
Developing this new service has required great effort, focus, capital
expenditure and risk. We cannot pioneer technology that people want without
regularly investigating our prospective customers' expectations, as we're
doing with this survey. All we ask of you is that you take our short survey,
and be as honest as you can.

Sincerely,

The Team @ Genetic Savings & Clone

Personally I would not clone my cat.  I can't bear to when I
think about all those cats at the local animal shelter who
desperately need a home.

So when my cats die (they haven't encountered
Duncan McLeod so they will die at some point.)
I'll get a new companion from the local animal shelter.

For me one of the hardest things to do is go
shoppihng at PetsMart locally becuase they
have all these cats from the local shelter who
need homes.
