For my babies up coming birthday I was thinking of giving her a whole
package of cat treats. Would this be real unhealthy or cause loose stools or
anything else bad?Usually she gets a can of tuna, but she's been extra good
this year and deserves something special.

Well, I know we love them but we got to have some control....for their
sake....I think anything their digestive system isn't used to could cause
"the runs" or a tummy ache maybe. Why don't you just give her more treats
than usual? She can enjoy the rest at a later time! You are very lucky to
know when her birthday is....when all your cats are strays or "throwaways"
you just have to guess their ages, pretty much.

I think all of my cats would prefer half a can of the highest grade
human tuna in water, especially the broth part. The get chunk light
in water instead of albacore though ... *I* get the good stuff -
theirs is just to keep them off the table and counters while I'm
preparing and eating my tuna.

Treats are full of sugar, so why do something bad for the cat on it's
birthday?
Get a nice piece of chickenbreast or -liver instead.

Yep. A few raw chicken livers is an ultimate treat for a cat.

> Thanks for the advice, I wasn't sure if cat treats were bad but I
suspected it. Feeding her something "bad" once a year isn't going to hurt
her, but, on the other hand, I don't want to make her sick. Maybe I will go
with chicken livers, thanks Abe.
My mom has an old cat and she keeps giving him something more special every
year, this year he got filet mignon, and she's planning on lobster next
year. I asked how she's going to top that- give him caviar? She replied, do
you think he'll eat it? I doubt it.

I would give her catnip.
