I have a cat who is about 9 years old. She has recently begun limping around
a bit  and looks very stiff when she walks. She seems to be eating normally
but lays around the house a lot. She also seems to be losing some muscle
mass. We took her to the local vet and they told us that the only thing they
could do was give her some drops of this medicine that is supposed to help
her regain some muscle and help strengthen her up. They did some blood work
but they said they found no signs of anything serious. They think it is
possibly a slight case of arthritis.
Any one have any thoughts?

Try glucosamine. Not sure of the dosage, as you did not give the
weight.

they should be able to diagnose arthritis.   if not, a second opinion might
be in order.

My old cat has been very stiff for a while, and recently started not wanting
to jump up on things.  I started her on cosequin for kitties, and it took 10
years off her visible age. (meaning she acted like a 18 yr old, now she acts
like an 8 yr old)
