I want to wean my four adult cats off canned
food and I was hoping I could get some good
tips here - they are fed a very high quality dry
food (and they all seem to like it), so I want to
get rid of the cans...........
Thanks in advance!

Just stop giving the wet food, but if they still *ask* for it, try putting
some water to the dry food and giving them that. Make sure they have plenty
of water available because they will drink a lot more on dry food.

I think it's best if you give them both. Canned foods more closely
resemble their natural prey (ie. nature doesn't make baked kibble).
Recycle!

but canned cat food is full of junk too! so you can't really win either
way!
if you want to feed them their natural prey then the closest thing is to
look into BARF, or another raw diet.... its a very cheap way of feeding cats
and dogs. just do a google search
I feed my cat on dry and wet food, and the kitten on a raw diet, with dry to
graze on of a night time.

You can always feed an all natural food like evolve or felidae.

I am feeding Tootie Iams low cal with hairball remedy. It really seems to agree with her. (However
she is still fat). The hairball remedy is a worthwhile addition. They also have one with tartar
control which I give her from time to time. I give her a little tuna (which she loves) about once
a week. MLB
