My cat Orson is a very loving and "people" cat if you will. For the past
couple of weeks though, he is sporadically acting weird. For instance, 2
weeks ago he puked twice in a weekend. His nose and bottom of paws were
bright red and when we would try to go near him, he would hiss at us which
had NEVER happened. This morning when I got up to go to work, he was
moaning very loud and when I tried to go near him again, he hissed at me.
20 minutes later I went to pet him and he was purring and loving again. I
am a new cat owner so I dont know what to expect. What do you think?

I think you should get that cat to a vet ASAP and have him checked out.

I hope not, too, but it's hard to say. He has several symptoms, none of
which I'm familiar with. The main thing is getting him there and you're
already on top of that. Is he eating and drinking and using his box? All
these would be very good signs if he is.
Best of luck, and do post back about the visit to vet. I hope everything is
okay.

It's good to see a vet.
How old is the cat, where did you get it?
Does it need shots and worming too?

Could your cat have gotten into something? Is there a new plant, fumes,
cleaning materials that could be toxic to your kitty?
I would get him checked at the vet just to make sure he's okay. The
bright red part would concern me -- I don't know if that's a fever,
blood pressure, or what it could be.
Let us know,
Rhonda
