The kittens are now 4 1/2 weeks old and I think it's about time that the
mother should introduce the litter box.
But she doesn't. I've put the little ones unto the litter, they only play
with it and see what it tastes like.
Am I too early? The book says to get the litter ready from the 25th day ...
Two of them love canned meat, they get a little portion in the morning, so I
think the box should be used now.

If mom uses the box, then the kittens will automatically take to it, you
wont need to do anything.

I have a question about this subject
I just got me 2 kittens about 10 weeks old..they have been outside since
birth and so it is new to them to be inside..        I have placed a
litter box and they use it for poop but not to pee in..they are both
boys..What can i do to get them not to tinkle elsewhere?
Is there a smell or spray they hate that i can use to place around
the house so they dont go besides ther litter box..
Im new to this and i would like to nip this in the bud before it gets
out of hand..
Also my kittens dont like to come out to play with humans around..they
dont mind the dogs at all but they run and hide when they see me..I know
im not that ugly..LOL
Do you think these kittens will warm up to me sometime?

If you play with them and treat them gently they will get to like and love
you, especially if they realize you're the one who gives them food and
water.
About the box: Put them in it every hour or so and scratch the sand, they
might get the message. If they do pee into it don't remove the litter: one
pee will ask for another one - but do remove the poop. It could put them
off.  Good luck!

They're too young to be spraying... normally I'd suggest scooping up the
offending cat in the act and placing it in the litterbox (might take a
week), but you say they run away from you.

As per "warming up" to you, you could try playing with them... standards
include piece of balled up paper tied to a string, laser-pointer,
"feeding the pigeons" (tossing kitty treats to them).
