Yeah, they come freeze dried, just sprinkle with water and shake'm up. Just
kidding. Don't know if that would be a good idea even if you could. Try
calling the shelter nearest you and see if they could arrange something.
Have a friend maybe get one from them for a stay over to see if the two of
you are compatible. I have MS and zipping around after a kitten wasn't an
option for me, so I got two adult cats, worked out fine.

Thanks for replying to my request Gary after much searching I did find
some local Shelter Websites with homes wanted I will ring them on
Monday
I was just wondering if they will send me a cat without actually going
there in person and getting interviewed to see if I am a good enough
candidate to adopt a cat.
They mentioned fostering short term on the website what do people
think of that??
Much Love
Sandra.

If they care at all about their cats, someone would come to your house to
inspect it for feline safety and to interview you at the same time.

I would point out when you go to the shelter part of the process of
choosing a cat is that the cat will also choose you to be it's owner.
Since you can't get to the shelter try contacting them. Some around
here are so desperate for new homes that they have been known to
bring some "adoption candidates" to a house so that the prospective
adopter can interact with the prospetive new addition to the family.
Another potential source is fostering. I've taken in fosters
and one the hardest parts of the fostering process is the dreaded
day when the cat leaves the house to go to a new home. You may
become attached to that foster.
I would add a number of shelters have set up web sites so that you
can see prospective adoption candidates. That would be a good
place to start but please start with your local shelters. They
have many cats who desperately need homes. Contact them, you'll
find some of them are so desperate to get these cats into homes
that they will bend over backwards to help in any way they can.
