I have a 12 week old kitten and an older boy at 9 months old. When we got
our kitten his cry was very piercing, you could hear him anywhere in the
house. Recently when he cries very little or nothing comes out, he is
forever caughing up things but then swallowing again. He hasnt been eating
properly when we have fed him, he goes to eat and tries to cry to say he is
hungry but when the food is down he has very little and then walks off. We
have had him four/five weeks now and i feel he has lost abit of weight, not
too much but to me he feels thinner.
Our kitten follows our older boy around the house everywhere, they sit
together, sleep and play together. I do know that when cats are playing or
fighting they can sometimes grab the other cat by the throat and sometimes
not let go.
Is it possible when fighting/playing our older boy has damaged our kittens
voice box or something?
Our kitten doesnt seem to want to play anymore either, he used to run around
the rooms like a mad man but now he just walks around trying to cry. He
always sits on my knee and follows me when i am home, i have tried to get
him to play but he just looks at the balls and sits on my knee.
He is drinking water, i make sure of that when i am home, i encourage him to
have water and put him near his bowl all the time. If he doesnt have any i
then put some water on my finger and onto his nose, this normally gets him
to have some water.
Please can you help me??
Thank you
Ash

You should take your kitten to a vet pronto! Mystery conditions like this
should be assessed by professionals, not amateurs.

Your cat needs a vet. He could have something lodged in there, have a
disease, anything.
