Thought I would make my first post...does anyone have any experience with their cats having picked up habits from dogs. Our cat we rescued from Battersea used to live with a dog...so they say. He (Fred) is 6 years old. He sleeps fully on his back all four paws in the air. He lets you rub his tummy, he constantly wants to be by you and gets under your feet, (I thought cats liked their independance) and he bites my face in the mornings when he wants feeding. With so many dog like traits, i swear he is a cat with a dog just waiting to get out. Anyone like to psycho analyse my cat for me ? It's all normal behaviour of a cat that is comfortable; count yourself lucky, my cats aren't so affectionate! My two live with a dog, but they don't copy any of its behaviour except that they follow it when we go for walks. Carola Rob, What breed is Fred? Maine Coons are alot dog like.I have a Himalayan she is like that too. But I have a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy too. They get along great but my cat has started acting more like a dog. How long have you had Fred? Maybe he will settle down when he gets more confident with you. Anyone like to psycho analyse my cat for me ? Souonds exactly like my DSH.... I had a cat that was raised with a dog for four years and she acted just like a dog. When she wanted to go outside, she would grad one of my belts with her teeth. She was raised around a pitbull, and hates other cats. She will terrorize other cats just like a dog. My sister's pitbull is her best friend; they cuddle up together, sleep together, play together. We call him CPS as a nickname because he was so protective of the younger cats and used to sleep with 3 of them when they were young. Cat Protective Services. He still is protective and will not be petted when he is caring for another cat.
