I know the problem from a stray that visited us years ago.
That cat ate too greedily. If this is the problem, give small portions at
the time.
Dry food swells up in the stomach. Put a bit in water and see. Get a brand
that swells up less.
Did you ever talk to the vet about the problem?
Do a google search too, it could be a severe medical problem.

My cat throws up every once and a while. Could be caused by anything or
nothing. Maybe allergies to the  food. did you change your food recently? Or
maybe the cat is just eating too much too fast.
Any other changes in behaviour that you notice along with it? then you might
have something to worry about.

Try eating it yourself and see what happens - seriously if your cat is
rejecting it then it is time to move to something else, preferably a good
mix of fresh food

Sometimes cats can have a narrower esophagus than other cats and some have a
tendency to bolt down their food. I have a friend with a cat with both. She
vomits all over the house. The vet's have been no help as to how to help the
cat.

So the cat continues to vomit almost everytime she eats. It's not good
because it can cause erosion, hernia and any number of other things of the
esophagus.

See the vet.  This was one of the first symptoms of IBD which our old
vet missed and led to the death of our beloved Carlisle last Easter.
We figured throwing up was something that happens, as this vet told
us.  We found out later and the new vet for our new pal Willow
confirmed this.  The disorder is not very pleasant for kitties.

Halter Sucks!

It could be mega esophagus ( a narrowing of the esophagus).This may
not show up as a kitten.

It requires:
1) wet food of gruel-like consistency
2) a raised feeding platform, 5-6 inches
3) The cat must be held vertically, like you were burping a baby, for
3-5 minutes after eating. This allows the food to pass slowly through
the esophagus.

On the other hand it could be something else. Does she not vomit up
wet food? My experience with one who bolts her food is that she
throws up the wet food but not the dry.

What does your vet say? Frequent vomiting can lead to severe
problems.

We had a similar problem with one of our cats eating dry food - it
seems he was stuffing it down so quickly it was making him sick. We
tried a couple of alternatives and settled on a lighter food with
smaller pieces that he's fine with.
