I brought the water up to Whiskers instead of him going downstairs. He
really lapped it up! Then I brought his food up and hand-fed him. He ate,
yayyyyy! I left the food on a towel because he's still under the bed. I
feel a bit better now. :-) Thanks again!

You are welcome, Diane! I am only too glad to have helped! I hope he is
doing even better today. (For some reason I slept really late......I hate
when that happens. It is 12:32 pm Sunday here. Therefore I did not get a
chance to see your post sooner)
It IS difficult to know exactly what might be going through their minds,
given what might have happened to them before (adopted kitties.) My 3 year
old was adopted from our SPCA Jan. 22nd, and she had been in a household
with 35 other cats, and 16 dogs. She had (and still has) major adjustments
with just one cat. She was not used to having as much human attention as
she could get (I could not imagine how to divide up your time between that
many animals!)
She is a very sweet, loving, gentle girl, but is very afraid of other
people. Just like your new boy, it will take some time before realization
sets in that this is a lvong, permanent home. It sounds like your boy
probably wore himself out at the vet :) Winkye wasn't a problem at the vet,
but getting her in the carrier!! Perhaps your kitty was so wound up and
tense, and finally relaxed at some point the next day that he fell into a
very relaxed and deep sleep. This happens to humans, when you are under
major pressure, carry the stress after the major event is over, then start
to relax, and all of a sudden your muscles are relaxing and you sleep very
deeply.
I hope this is all that caused him to zonk out. Perhaps by now he is
'redecorating' your house by doing the usual kitty tearing around. Update
as soon as you are able!

I agree with you completely, Melody. I have an anxiety/panic disorder and I
know how exhausted I am after something traumatic, even just going to the
grocery store. :-) I saw your other post too. I'll be sure to give
Whiskers some pets from you guys. That was sweet. He's doing so much
better today. We played with his ball on a string which he loves to bite.
LOL So, you adopted your kitty too. It's so nice to give a pet a home. I
wish I could've adopted all those cats that I saw, but we just couldn't.
However did this person manage that many pets in one house??!! Thanks for
listening to me. :-)
Hugs,
Di
