I am going to crosspost this plea for you to email the officials named in
the below link. Please, please,....you COULD make the difference with your
email. Do it for the tabby. Please. It will just take moments of your time.

A couple of points on this incident:
1.  Dont' bother making phone calls unless you actually live in
California.  If you live in California remind them that you 1. live
in California, 2. Vote in California and 3.  that you are upset by
this.
2.  The California primary is coming up very soon.  Seek out
the candidates running for president and your local elections
and get them talking about the issue.
3.  Call your local talk shows/write your local newspaper.

Outratge is good in something like this but if must come
from people in the local area.  Someone like me is
thousands of miles away and the local people
aren't going to listen to me.  And calls from
many states/countries outside of California probably
won't be of much help.

Think local.

It certainly never hurts to email........even if you are out of state.

And they will probably discard them.  The local voters in the area are
the ones that will be heard.  If you respond you may prevent the
local voices, who are the ones that will be heard the loudest, from
being heard.

I was just reviewing the story again.  Being familiar with how
politics work the best thing that can be done is for people in
the Los Angeles area to call the mayor/contact the media
contact your state reps, state senators, city council and
others and remind them that you live in Los Angeles and
that you vote.  That will hit home much more than anything
I 1,000 miles away can say.  (Escpecially since I'm in the
city that Bratten used to work in years ago.....any letter from
this city would automatically end up in the circular file).

When you call/write be sure to mention that you do vote,
that you are polite and respectful, and that really did vote
in the recent elections.  (They can easily check that stuff
out and they do.).

It should be pointed out they are betting (and unfortunately they
may be right) that the majority of voters are not
concerned these animals.

Probably won't help.  Some elected officials just dump all their
e-mail and assume much of it is spam.

I would point out polite phone calls and snail mail is the best
unless you talk to them in person.

When they hear from one caller they get interested in the bill,
if they hear from 3 they become a supporter of the bill,
if they hear from 5 they become a co-sponsor of the bill.
They figure one phone call usually equals something like
1,000 voters.
