Does any one have links to places (esp with pics) where they built their own scratching posts for
there or someone else's cat?  I'm not looking for store built ones but ones that people designed
and loving made on their own.  I'm working on building one myself and just thought it would be nice
to see how others built theirs.  Anything from plain to fancy.  Give me some other ideas to work
with.  Not really interested in ones that were store built or built for the masses but unique ones.

Thanks,
Jack

Not fancy, but functional:

it like that)

Oo.. this one shows how worn it is:

As you can see, very much used.

LOL...definitely well used!  Might want to replace the carpet for them or wrap it up with rope...

Cool pics! Thanks!

Oh, no.  And destroy their work of art??  I think not!  They'd find ways to
make me pay.  ;)

I just reposted about the one I made. Look for the subject line
"World's Best Scratching Post."

Saw it but hard to see what you did from the pic.  Great idea though!

How do you do a search from outlook express (which is where my newsgroups
are?) I'm new to this...I would love to see the scratching post, though.

I don't use Outlook, so I have no idea how to search with it. But here
is the URL to pictures of it. The top pic shows Cat-Boy using it.

http://home.comcast.net/~johnxj/index.html

If you double-click on the above URL it should automatically open your
default browser and take you to the page. If it does not, copy the URL
and paste into the address window in your browser. If you're using
Outlook, then your default browser is probably Internet Explorer.

Thanks but more looking for pics.  I've got a good idea on what I'm going to do but thought that it
would be cool for myself and others to see what others have done.

Why don't you post them so that everyone can see them?

I would like to see the scratching post as well.
What has worked so far for me is this.We bough a piece of cedar it's soft
and we strapped a store bough scratching post to it.He's using it.It's good
but I still would just like him to use the wood it does a better job of the
claw's in my opinion.

I agree about the wood. I think soft wood and bark is what they are
designed to scratch on.

Here's the URL to pictures of Cat-Boy. The top one shows him using the
scratching post I made for him.
