3 days ago my extremely healthy Siamese cat "Pepper" died from renal
failure.  I was wondering what might have caused it.  She was a part-time
outside cat and for a couple days I didn't see her, I heard a loud cry from
underneath my cabinets and I found her inside there, and pulled her out,
she was limp & weightless, I rushed her to the vet & he immediately started
an IV, he said she may have eaten anti-freeze or hit by a car (but no signs
of being hit but a bit of blood in her teeth), he called soon after & said
she has renal failure but couldn't get a urine sample to see what the cause
is & it looked bad.  Pepper stayed overnight & she past-away the next
morning.  I felt lost, if I only found her sooner.  Could she have been hit
by something or a car which could have caused renal failure, I wouldn't
imagine so but I'm not sure?  She didn't vomit anywhere in the cabinet or
outside, that I found.  Seems so odd if it were anti-freeze or other, even
till just before she died, she meowed and purred at me, but her body was
just gone.  I hope you can help me with my questions, it just keeps going
over & over in my mind if I could have done something or this just happens??

THANK YOU
PS:  Pepper's in heaven playing with lots of yarn & chasing mice, can't
wait to see her again.

Very sorry about your loss.
Cats purr when in pain, the meowing along with it proves it.
