We've tried "Special non-allergenic food from the vet but he won't

Skin biopsy results suggest an allegy but no suggestions. We are
going to try getting rid of the plastic food dishes.

You might tempt him with some good quality ground beef, broken up and
simmered in a little water (you don't want to fry it), then mixed with plain
boiled rice and moistened with some of the water from the beef. You can
supplement the nutrition with cat vitmins added to the food. Oh, and add
just a little salt for flavor.
