I'm writing a follow up on the kitten that showed up at my house the same
day my beloved Blanca died. My white tom cat watches over him just like a
father even though he is tough tom cat. If cats were football players he
would be a middle linebacker, one time he ran a german sheperd out of the
yard. Now when the little kitten comes into the porch to eat Blanco(the
tomcat) sits outside the door until it finishes eating. He rarely eats
until the kitten has had his share. I'm hoping we can catch it soon. Larry

Dear Larry,

that was a really lovely post. Your white tom is just the sweetest chap
around to welcome the new kitten so well. I imagine he is bound to be
missing his old chum. But still, many cats might be a bit "anti" a
newcomer - but not your white boy! It always amazes me how much more
sensible cats (and most animals are) than us humans. We pick fights when not
necessary, cats seem to understand that there is enough to share for all of
us?

I am only very new to this group and am getting a bit of flaming for my
beliefs. Fair enough! But I noticed no-one had replied to your very lovely
and positive posting, so I hope you don't mind that I am doing so. Cats can
be so mysterious to us, but always have something to teach us, don't you
think?

Many here would rather flame a newcomer than reply to you most lovely post
about you home pusscats. Says a lot.

Best wishes,
Samantha

I should have posted sooner to this post.  It seems like your tom knows that
even though there is a new little one that you care for him as much as you
did before.  And I am sure that Blanca sent that kitten to comfort not only
you but her friend.

We had neighbors that left three cats when they moved and one has taken a
liking to our yard and we feed her (we call it a her because our other two
cats are girls) but she won't let us get within 3 feet of her.    We hope as
the weather gets nicer and we are outside more that she will come closer and
we can get her checked out.

This is what I like to see in this newsgroup.  Positive happenings and
supportive posts.

Samantha and Karin,Tank you for your thoughtful postings. I too would
rather hear positive things. A follow up on the kitten; It was very scared
at first and would hardly come out from underneath our house. In the last
few days it has gotten less afraid and last night it almost ate from a
spoonful of food I was offering it. It wants so much to be petted but it is
still pretty shy but I think eventually it will let us pet it. It is the
most adorable little thing;solid black except for its boots and mouth.I'm
hoping this weekend it will really warm up to us.Thanks again. Larry
