Weird occasional behaviors

I wonder if someone can help me. I rescued 2 kittens back in October 2004.
They have been to the vet had thier shots and appear to be pretty healthy,
they are about 7 months old now.
The past 3 months one of the kittens started with a weird behavior, for one
she is affectionate with me but not really weith my husband, all of the
sudden one day she started rubbing herself on my husbands feet and acting
very lovable towards him, then she started urinating in the house outside
the box, and gives off a little meow once in a while, after about 3 days
the first time of this happening my husband and I took the kitten to the
emergency room for fear she may have some pain or something, needless to
say I think the doctor thought we were having the problem, the doctor said
there were no signs of any problems at all and even told me the kitten was
not in heat (they have not been neutered yet).
Now it seems only of my kittens is doing this and she is doing it about
every 13 days or so.
Does anyone out there have any idea what this could be? The vet seems to
think nothing but it just seems weird.
Also I want to say 1 time I thought she was having a gland problems so I
put a warm compress on her rearend area and she seemed to push on it and
start like scooting across the floor, could this be the hole problems to
all the rubbings and occasional urinating which she does only when she is
going through this stage every 13 days or so. Please help.

The behavior you describe *is* that of a cat in heat. Get the kittens
fixed. It should have been done already.

Your cat is in heat. I would personally change vets, seeing as the one
you took her to isn't able to recognize the symptoms of a female queen
in heat. It would definately make me wonder whether or not they were
competent enough to recognize the symptoms of other health issues that
could come up. Please......Get them fixed as soon as possible. If you
don't, they will continue to go into heat every two weeks or so. They do
tend to "mark their territory" (spraying urine), to let male cats know
that they are ready to mate.

Exactly what I was thinking!!

Guess the other kitten is a male?

no, actually the other kitten is also a female but she has not started this
behavior yet.

If the other kitten has not started acting weird yet, she will. I have to
agree they both need fixed A.S.A.P.
