Okay, when it rains it pours. With all these cats, we haven't had all of
them healthy at once in over a year.
Chipper, one of the "teenagers" (7 months) I noticed today was licking a
front paw a lot and then holding it up when he sits. He is walking and
playing fine. Compared to the other paw, between the big pad and the toe
pads, it looks kind of raw down in there. There was litter in there which we
got out with a tweezer, but he is still licking it. He never goes out so I
don't know what could be in there. We are going to put neosporin on it
tonight and schedule a vet visit asap.
Has anybody had anything similar?

It sounds like the litter irritated it. Even though you've removed
it, the place it rubbed is still sore. It must not be too bad for him
or it would hinder his play and regular activities. The vet may be
able to recommend a good salve to put on it that will help to sooth
the rawness.
