One of my cats (Gretchen the hunter) has started jumping on the bed,
figuring out were my butt last hit the sheets and then kneads the area
(claws extended) then proceeds to lay down. I'm assuming that this is
something akin to Emily's tendency to gather up my soiled clothes to build a
bed out of them. I'm also assuming that this may be their way of saying,
Hey! you're ok in my book. Or, maybe their way to come out on top of that
big critter in the pride. The only problem with this is the fact that
Gretchen uses her claws when kneading. Any thoughts?

not a clue
can you try to be a bit more scientific in your methodology
