Fleagor is not much of a mouser, but he *is* a champion frogger. The
first frogs of the year were chirping today. Fleagor came in a few
minutes ago with his feet as wet as they ever get, and he was
ecstatic. He's been without fresh frog for months, and now his
favorite food is back on the menu ... at least for a few days until it
turns cold again.

Is that because he dislikes the cold or the frogs hide under the ice? Mine
loved spring but the local ducks disliked being dive bombed.
I've now moved away from the canal....

Frogs are cold-blooded - they are inactive and buried in cold weather.
Fleagor is enough like a Maine Coon cat that he almost likes cold
weather (<http://gearbox.maem.umr.edu/tdavis/cats/fleagor.html>).

Beautiful cat. It looks like a cross between a russian blue and maine
coon - or norwegian forest cat.
love the name

What a gorgeous cat you have there!!!
I wonder if it is the jumping action that frogs do that attracts him to
them, or whether it is the song that frogs make that tickles his fancy?

The chirping informs him that frogs are active, not that he doesn't
check the area frequently anyway, but he seems most interested in
eating them. And of course, to eat them, he has to catch them (or
steal one from another cat, but I think he's too nice to do that,
though a couple of cats won't hesitate to steal (except from Fleagor -
*nobody* messes with Fleagor's catch).

He's an enigma - background completely unknown.
