I had my 7 month old female cat fixed today...since I've brought her home
she seems to be doing fine but her hips seemed to have enlarged! She looks
like a poor kitty who hasn't had food in weeks..her sides are sunk in and
her back leg bones seem like they are overly wide. I understand what was
taken out of her but would this cause her to all of a sudden appear
extremely skinny?

Give her time, when everything is healed she will grow back into a nice
shape.

This killed me too when my girl came home. They just removed a big
old piece of her insides, is the thing. :( But you did the right thing.

Well a few organs have gone so I suppose it could make  her skinnier,
although I never noticed the change on my 2 girls.

When you say the hips are enlarged, do you mean larger then before the op
(for sure!), or they just appear larger with stomach shrinking? If the
second, I suppose its ok. However if you think anything is larger then
before the op, Id consult the vet, cos any enlargements can be the sign of
an infection, so needs an urgent check up.
