Split pad

Hi,
My kitten Lilo(6 1/2 mons.) likes to sit in the window and smell the outside
and watch...today the window shut on her front paw catching her middle pad
and pinching it in the window. Luckily I was right there and able to get the
window up immediately, but when I looked at her paw, it has a split in the
pad and it was bleeding but not alot and it stopped right away when I
applied pressure(gently)she will let me touch it and gently move it around,
so I don't think anything is broken..she's walking on it and jumping up and
down, but once in a while she'll sit with it lifted so no pressure is on it.
It must be throbbing and extremely sore(I know this because I myself had
another window in this house do the same thing to one of my fingers causing
a blood blister underneath the nail, and hurt like h--l for a month)
I can see "matter" inside, like the flesh of the pad I guess. I applied
Neosporin and left it open(no bandage) and have been keeping a close watch
on her.
My question is does a cat have as clean a mouth as a dog? By her licking it,
will it help heal it? Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Cats have *extremely* nasty bacteria in their mouths, but they seem to
be immune to their own strains.

Ouch! :( I would venture the size of the split would determine your
course of action.  A call to the vet might be in order before a visit to
the vet, should you feel the need for a professional opinion.
The application of a bit of Neosporin several times a day for a few days
seems like a good idea, especially after those litter box sessions.
