Weird Harold - 11 Jan 2005 18:20 GMT Christians encourage getting rid of cats because they claim they are the servants of witches and the devil and not Christianity. They say cats carry instructions from the devil!

Besides, self-righteous zealots really piss me off when they call themselves "Christians". They aren't at all. Or maybe I'm just still pissed off because a house fell on my sister.

All hail the mighty cat god . . . and the lesser dog god as well.

They say cats carry >instructions from the devil! I find it curious that those people think that killing mice and some rats to help prevent destruction of the grain harvest followed by famine, help reduce the incidence of plague, and reducing human blood pressure are the work of the devil. The obvious corollary is that high blood pressure, plague, and famine are Good Things. Of course, those Christian Enthusiasts are pretty good at weaseling out of logical corollaries - they have to be.

Wild lions are mentioned, sometimes in a positive light and sometimes in a negative light.

As for lions, although technically the same (feline)family they are hardly alike our domestic cats, and I personally dislike male lions cos of their capability to kill the baby lions, just so it can claim the new territory in full. Most animals would not kill the young of their own species, even if not their own.

Occasionally, though much more rarely, the mother cat will also kill kittens.

The queen cat just lay there and watched him kill it. I took the other kittens and the queen, to another house completely (mine), until the kittens were old enough to be adopted, and the queen had been fixed. Only then did I return her to her original house. The owner of the cats laughed when he saw the tom killing his own son. He thought that it was a good way to ensure that the tom would be able to breed all of the females without the competition of the other males. When I returned the female to him already spayed, he decided to sue me for damages. Well, since that pissed me off, I called our local animal cruelty people, and they went over and removed his other animals. It turns out that none of the animals had ever been to a vet, and that one of them was suffering from cancer, and needed to be put down. Some "animals" don't deserve to have pets.

OMG what a story. I'm so glad you were there when the tom killed the kitten. Poor baby.
Brand - 12 Feb 2005 05:32 GMT > >As for lions, although technically the same (feline)family they are > >hardly [quoted text clipped - 9 lines] > > Sherry Toms will kill kittens. If the mother doesn't have kittens to nurse, she will come into heat again. Tom gets to mate, and pass on his genes. Usually, not always, if the tom is the dominate tom, and lives there, he will not kill the kittens. Sometimes they will, but not often. It's more likely a stray tom who comes around will kill the kittens to bring the mom into heat so he can pass on his genes.

Tabetha Orr - 06 Feb 2005 20:08 GMT witches are servants to cats. As far as the killing of kittens. When a momma cat senses some thing wrong she will kill her young. My mothers cat gave birth to 4 kittens in the morning their was no trace of those cats except for one. The one survivor is still living with the momma cat and they still clean each other and sleep together. It is a part of nature even though it is sad.
