For the ones who are interested, Pheniox had another vet appointment yesterday. Dr. Grenoble says that we can expect 3 kittens, that is all she is carring. He says they will be here around first week of Febuary. Sasha has started trying to nurse pheniox again, what makes it so bad is pheniox lets her then they look at me like I am the bad one when I spray them with the water. The vet will be delivering phenioc base on her past medical history and she will be spayed after the delivery. Just for sanities sake my vet agrees that a pregnant female shouod not be fixed due to bleeding and infection. Sasha went to vet also yesterday for her shots and she had a great report. Vet suggested Kitten food for pheniox, as well as a vitamin supplement. How in the hey do you give a ct a vitamin, let me tell you that is hard she hates it I finally get her to swallow and you would think that I have killed her she hacks and coughs and then gives me the "evil" cat look. I want to thank everyone who welcomed me to the board. I hope all had a mearry holiday

Cool, good news.
When I have to give my kits a pill I put it in a blob of butter - if they
don't swallow it the first time they always do the second time. :)

Butter? Is that good for them?

A little lump of it around a pill won't hurt. If they eat too much you'll
have big fat cats though. :)

oh okay I will give tnat a try, Pheniox is starting to get a little weired acting. She insist on laying in my lap and sleeping right on my chest now. I move he she comes right back, She use to only want to lay near you and occasionally let you love and pet her but now it is an all the time thing. Dont get me wrong I love it but I wonder why the sudden change? She has also taken to grooming sasha constantly, its as if she cant get her clean enough. Sasha will run and pheniox will tackle her and hold her down to finish the job. Could it be due to her pregnancy or something?

I am so glad you got good news for the kitties. Maybe Pheniox is trying to mother Sasha?

<update>
To reiterate, I wouldn't worry about who's nursing who until the kittens
arrive.

Put the cat on a table, wrap your arm around it and open the mouth with
your left hand and pop the pill in with the right. Apply kitty-treats
immediately after.

As the pregnancy progresses, try to keep Sasha from nursing. It can make the
mother go into labor early and the babies will be early.
I lost a litter last year cause the mother cat would let an older kitten
nurse, and she gave birth prematurly. The kittens all died. My vet said that
the nursing probably started labor early.

I defenatly dont wnt her to go to labor early, Sasha is not happpy with me because I have had to seperate them when I go to work, I noticed Pheniox nipples are so red from were she lets sasha nurse. I bought a carrier for the kitten to stay in and she is put in there immediatley when i see the nursing. Sasha hates the cage do hopefully she will get the point.
