I posted a while ago about my 41/2 month old ragdoll kitten. I'd like to
update and then I'd like some feedback because I'm really puzzled. Two
weeks ago my kitten was showing obvious back pain, he cried when picked up
or when touched, couldn't even jump two feet and had to pull himself up on
chairs with his front paws. Temp was 41 degrees. He was listless and lay
in one spot all day, only brightened up in the evening after being given and
anti-inflammatory (ketoprophen). I spent hundreds of dollars on diagnostic
tests CBC, X-rays, FIV and Fleukamia. All negative. My vet suggested that
the breeder should be sharing some of the responsibility since we'd had him
for such a short time. The breeder agreed to take him back for observation.
The day after she got him back she said he was fine, except for maybe a
little tenderness in his back. If others hadn't observed his general malaise
I'd be thinking I'd imagined it all. I know she's going to suggest we take
him home again soon, what do you think? I don't think he's seen a vet since
he's been in the breeders care.

I suggest that you try to find out some other people who have had
dealings with this particular breeder. Find out if they have had any
problems with other litters of kittens. Word of mouth is your best
advertisment. If you find problems from other people who have dealt with
them, then it's time to deal with them however you see fit.
Good luck.
