You were my best friend for 20 years but now you can hear again, you
can hold your food down again, and you don't have to take the nasty
medicine twice a day for your hyper-thyroid condition anymore. You
can finally get comfortable when you lie down, and you won't have to
be huddled up against the heater to keep your skinny body warm anymore
because you've gained back all your weight.
Best of all, Fluffy and Demelza were waiting for you at The Rainbow
Bridge to welcome you home and to tell you of the wonders around the
bridge.
And now you are meeting the other dogs and cats of my life and waiting
for the day that my mission here on earth will be done and we will all
meet at the Rainbow Bridge and cross over into heaven to spend all
eternity together.
I miss you now, I wonder what you were thinking as you fell asleep in
my arms this morning after the little pinch from the vet - but you
went to sleep in your own house - the only home you've known since you
were a few months old.
The hurt is now mine - but it is because I miss you and know that when
I sit down tonight in my chair, you won't be there to keep my lap warm
- but i will get over it because you are at peace having kept me
company for longer than I deserved.
I won't forget you Smokey -

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you take comfort knowing that
Smokey is probably very happy now that she/he can run and play and not
feel anymore pain.

Oh Jerry, I'm so sorry for your great loss. Loosing someone we love is the
most difficult thing in the world, and your pain in unbearable.
Keep yourself busy, but at the same time, don;t keep your pain inside. It
will eat you alive and it will come out pone way or the other, sooner or
later. Let the hurt out, talk to someone who has love for animals, or has
known Smokey, cry if you feel like crying, don;t keep it inside like I did.
I only realised how bad I was, when I looked at my photo and realised I put
on 20 Kgs comfort eating in grief. You must allow yourself to grieve and
grieve appropriately. Grieving for our pets is the same as grieving for
children, don;t let anyone tell you otherwise. Give yourself time, it won;t
be easy, but you'll learn to live with it eventually. I never accepted the
loss of my QT fully, even though its been 5 years now, and I live in hope I
will see him again when time comes.Love is an amazing thing and those lil
furry creatures simply know how to wiggle their way into our hearts. And
Smokey had 20 years to dig deep ...
What a beautiful age to live to. And what amount of memories you must
have...
Smokey will live as long as he lives in your heart, and one day you;ll meet
again and be happy together again. For now, he is watching over you from the
above, the lovely lil guardian angel.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Please add my condolences to the pile. I've had to say goodbye to about 20
Smokeys over the years and it never got any easier.A wise person told me,
though, that the best thing I could do in loving memory of a dear cat would be
to give a good home to another one. I've done that..and it's helped a
little..and of course every new cat becomes a favorite.
When you are ready, do consider that.

I'm so sorry to hear of this sad news, but I understand that sometimes
you have to do what you have to do for your loved one :(
20 years is an outstanding life for a cat, and an obvious credit to
you as an owner for giving him so much love and care for him to help
live for so long, and obviously give him so much to live for
>-g
I hope that your next cat and you can look forward to the same joyful
life and love together.
my deepest condolences.
