I used to have a girlfriend with two cats that loved to chase the red dot
from a laser pointer around the house. Great way to excesise your indoor cat
with minimal effort on your part. One was a calico with green eyes and the
other was a pure white with blue eyes. My cat, a black and white with yellow
eyes doesn't seen to see the dot, though. She's very playful, however. I was
wondering if She would see the light of one of the new green laser pointers
that are out now. Anyone familiar with the varying degrees of color
blindness of thier cats?

Cat vision is supposed to be most sensitive in the orange range - the
color of moonlight.  Human vision is most sensitive (day vision) in
the green range - the color of light filtered through leaves, but our
night vision is also more sensitive in the orange range.

Your cat may just not be interested.

I don't think so. She seems completly oblivious.

It's possible she can't see red, but I think she would still see the dot moving
even if it looked grey or anothe color to her. All of our cats can see the red
laser dot. The color of the cat's eyes wouldn't make any difference in vision.
