Hi, I haven't been around in... years? But I need some fast help and
information.
Someone I met on a message board is having problems with her cat. The
cat would repeatedly throw up. She took her to the vet, and
apparently the cat was constipated all the way up to her stomach. The
cat was given an enema, but started throwing up again today, so the
vet wants to do surgery.
The problem is the owner doesn't have enough money, and the vet won't
allow a payment plan. She wants to find another vet that will allow a
payment plan. She lives in Kent, Ohio. I assume she can travel as
far as it takes.
The thread where you can find more information is located here:

If anyone can give any information as to alternatives, or how to find
other vets, or anything that may be helpful, it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thank you!

There are two excellent veterinary clinics in Akron, Ohio (not far from
Kent). I don't know anything about their costs or whether they would accept
a payment plan, but both are accredited by the American Animal Hospital
Association (AAHA), so I think it would be worth making some phone calls.
The two are:
Highland Veterinary Clinic
578 West Market Street
Akron, Ohio 44303
(330) 253-6868
Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital
1053 S Cleveland-Massillon Rd
Akron, Ohio 44321
(330)2 53-2544
I hope this helps.

Has the vet ruled out hairballs? My little Luna was throwing up on a daily
basis and the vet thought she had a hairball that she couldn't get up. She
gave her some meds and special canned food and it worked. If your friend
has enough money, maybe get a second opinion before having surgery
performed. Let us know how things turn out.

And thanks for the address and phone numbers, too! I'll be sure to pass them along.

Well, all seems to have mended itself!
Before I was able to give her any information, she found out she
wasn't allowed to take the cat before paying for the other medical
treatments done. With paying for that bill, then she didn't have
enough money to pay for the down payment at other clinics!
So she decided to consent to the surgery, and figure out payment
later.
For the surgery, they found out that he had a rubber stopper in him.
Immediately afterwards, he became MUCH better, so now he's all well.
Well, with becoming better, he also became his rotten self again! He
rolled through the clinic like a ball of terror and mutilated every
hand that got near him... or even walked passed him by sticking his
paws out through the bars!
Because they couldn't handle him, they allowed her to take him and
make payments :)
